Network Connectivity and
Interconnection Services You Need

Because interconnection is the foundation of a successful data center deployment, we offer a wide range of
networking and data center interconnect services to deliver secure, cost-effective choices to our customers.

You can establish low-latency, high-capacity connections to your customers, prospects, partners, carriers  and clouds either
physically or virtually, at the data center, metro or international level.

Iron Mountain’s network connectivity solutions can scale rapidly at a competitive price, from a single market to one or more continents,
and from a cross connect to a global MPLS deployment with hundreds of Gbps internet capacity, peering, connections and hundreds of cross connects.

Our interconnection services are fully integrated with our colocation services, so it’s just a single bill for space, power and bandwidth.

Cross Connects

What are Cross Connects?

As the building block of network connectivity, a cross connect provides critical paths to your workloads and applications. Our rapidly deployable cross connects allow you to access the full Iron Mountain Data Center Ecosystem of clouds, networks, strategic partners and service providers quickly, securely, and cost effectively. The distance from your gear to a provider is just a few feet, so latency is minimal, and with no third party provider to run through, traffic remains secure. All physical connections leverage fiber for maximum speed. In addition to physical cables, we offer virtual cross connects which are even faster to deploy. Provisioning is simple and fast. Just order as many as you need via your online customer portal.
Cross Connect Data Center

Virtual Cross Connects

What are Virtual Cross Connects?

Virtual Cross Connects (VXCs) help you scale your business. As you grow your data center footprint from one to multiple facilities. It is quicker, easier and more flexible to scale up your connections and extend your reach through virtual as opposed to physical Cross Connects. VXCs let you link between every Iron Mountain Data Center, and because you are part of the Iron Mountain Data Center Ecosystem you can also deploy virtual connections via our SDN partners to hundreds of other locations.

The order process is just as simple as with physical cables via your online customer portal.

Direct Internet Access (IP Transit)

What is IP Transit?

Iron Mountain’s Direct Internet Access (IP Transit) service provides you with fast, reliable and affordable internet connectivity.

We partner with a wide range of strategic local, national and global carriers to deliver dedicated IP transit services. We also offer multi-homed BGP Direct Internet Access (DIA), which blends tier 1 carrier services for a consistent, reliable connectivity option.

Our DIA services come with a redundant connection as part of the service. Redundancy options are available for BGP or HSRP/VRRP as well. Additionally, IPv4 space is available for lease.

Uptime SLAs guarantee the reliability of your connection.

Either service is suitable as a supplement to existing capacity, a backup option or as your primary solution.

Metro Wave

What is Metro Wave?

Metro Wave is a suite of network services that enables you to reach ecosystems beyond your core data center, whether it is a PoP, a partner, an existing facility, or another colocation site.

It gives you the cost-effective, scalable optical capacity to extend your reach to all the cloud providers, customers, partners, carriers and peering & internet exchanges of your choice. Our prices start at $350 MRC for 10G products and $1,000 MRC for 100G products.

Metro Wave is a flexible and fast solution. You can choose the redundancy levels you need and the capacity you want, allowing you to reach strategic regional interconnection points quickly and cost-effectively. We can provide both unprotected single paths, or diverse wave pairs for redundancy.

Peering & Internet Exchanges

What is Peering?

Exchanging traffic via peering improves performance and gives you instant reach, redundancy and network choice at the same time as reducing costs, improving latency and security. It also provides you with greater network visibility and control.

Our data centers house some of the world’s leading internet exchanges, including AMS-IX, LINX and DE-CIX.

You can access thousands of networks, open up new markets, increase control and drive more business opportunities via a single port connection.

You can also access major strategic internet exchange points from a dedicated port within our Meet-Me-Rooms, via our Metro Wave, Private Network Transport or through one of our Software Defined Network (SDN) partners.

And you can quickly and easily set up private peering relationships with any partner in Iron Mountain’s extensive global ecosystem.

Cloud On-Ramp

What is Cloud On-Ramp?

Today’s digital businesses need dedicated cloud connections to operate securely and reliably, and we make every effort to get our customers closer to the cloud.

Based on your redundancy, budget and scale requirements, we can help you connect directly to cloud providers through a variety of port and transport options in our Meet-Me-Rooms.

Either make a direct connection where the provider is present in the data center or use one of our Software Defined Network (SDN) partners for access.

You can also invite competitive proposals from a huge range of carriers to get rapidly deployable, cost-effective access to hundreds of paths to the clouds you want.

For greater control and scalability, Iron Mountain Metro Wave also provides highly scalable connectivity to strategic interconnection points where you can book a dedicated cross connect to your clouds.
